Ingredients

Base Layer

  • 2 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 2 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 3 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Nougat layer

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 3 tbsp maple or rice syrup
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup roasted peanuts

Chocolate layer

  • 1 1/4 cups dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

Instructions

  • Start by assembling the base layer.
  • Mix all the ingredients for the base layer together by hand.
  • Transfer into a lined 8" square tray and press down firmly into the base.
  • Pop the tray into the freezer while making the nougat layer.
  • Nougat layer.
  • Whisk together the peanut butter, maple syrup, coconut oil & salt until smooth.
  • Take the base layer out of the freezer, and pour the nougat layer on top. Spread it out evenly so the base is completely covered.
  • Sprinkle the roasted peanuts over the nougat layer evenly.
  • Pop it back into the freezer for 1 hour to set.
  • Chocolate layer.
  • Melt the chocolate and coconut oil together on the stove, or in the microwave for 45 seconds.

To make slices:

  • Pour the chocolate layer on top of the nougat (once set). Pop back into the refrigerator for a few minutes before cutting into squares/slices.

To make bars:

  • Cut the base & nougat mixture into 12 bars.
  • Drizzle the chocolate over the top of the bars, it doesn't have to be done evenly.
  • Pop back into the refrigerator or freezer to set.

Notes

Snickers bars/slices can be stored either in the fridge or freezer, depending on if you like it slightly soft, or hard.
