Notes
Frozen vs. Fresh: Frozen berries are often more affordable and can reduce food waste. They also create a thicker, colder smoothie. If using frozen fruit, your blender might need a little extra power. Add a splash of water or extra plant-based milk to help things move along smoothly.
Customize Your Berries: Don’t have all three berries on hand? No worries! This recipe is incredibly versatile. Swap out the blackberries or blueberries for raspberries, cherries, or even mango for a tropical twist.
Boost the Creaminess: For an extra creamy texture, add a dollop of your favorite vegan yogurt (almond, coconut, or cashew work well) or even half an avocado.
Protein Power: Looking for a post-workout pick-me-up or a more filling snack? Blend in a scoop of your favorite vegan protein powder.
Sneaky Greens: Want to add a hidden veggie boost? A handful of baby spinach or kale will blend in seamlessly without affecting the taste. This is a great way to sneak in extra nutrients, especially for picky eaters.
Leftover Rescue: Got some forgotten berries lurking in the fridge? Throw them in your smoothie and give them a new lease on life! Smoothies are a perfect way to use up odds and ends produce before they go bad.
